While studying connective tissue diseases (breast cancer) and the premature aging effect of diabetes, pathologist Dr. Michael Schinitsky and Dr. Lorraine Meisner, a cell biologist and cytogeneticist, verified the effectiveness of the topical application of L-ascorbic acid in maintaining smoothness and elasticity to the skin. They also identified two natural chemical ‘helpers’ (zinc and tyrosine) that measurably assisted in the delivery of vitamin C through to the skin’s active cellular layer. In 1990 this unique complex was patented under the Bio-Derm patent.
Cellex-C is based on the scientific findings of the Bioderm patent. The patented complex was initially developed as a result of clinical studies on wound healing and related connective tissue disease. A correlation was determined between a deficiency in vitamin C, tyrosine and zinc and intrinsically aged or photo-damaged skin. The scientific basis of the Bioderm patent utilizes the synergistic effect of bioavailable L-ascorbic acid combined with zinc and tyrosine, and water-soluble bioflavinoids to complement skin lacking in these nutrients.
What does the patent mean to our formula? It means that Cellex-C’s formula of L-ascorbic acid, zinc and tyrosine have been scientifically proven to visibly improve the condition of the skin, reverse damage and protect it from future damage. And because this complex is patented no other manufacturer can legally use this formulation of ingredients and therefore cannot produce the same level of results.
